Thanks to some recent interviews, we have become experts on the following topic. It’s an art really. Here’s your quick, go-to guide to prepping for an interview in a public restroom…
- Bring all of your interview clothes and hang them in your blind spot as you drive to the area of your interview in more comfortable clothing.
- About 45-60 minutes prior to the interview, locate the nearest shopping mall, pharmacy or grocery store.
- Gather your things and make sure you have a plan for what to do with your current clothes. For instance: wear your comfy shoes even though it doesn’t match the rest of your outfit for the sake of one less thing to carry out to the car following the change.
- Walk in like you own the place. Consider this equal to a stop at home to change clothes and make no apologies for what you are about to do.
- Make a beeline straight to the bathroom. Do not make eye contact with anyone or ask any questions. Remember, you are on a mission.
- Get pretty. Oh, and put on an extra dose of confidence.
- Walk straight back to the car. Do not acknowledge anyone who raises an eyebrow as you speed by following your costume change.
- Rock the interview!
